Power is transmitted via special carbon fiber belts. Due to the extreme tensile strength of this material, this type of drive can be compared to a steel chain. The carbon belt also has the great advantage that there is hardly any friction loss and no lubrication is required. High torques and power outputs of up to 500 hp can be transmitted.
